Why Kickboxing

After nearly 40 years in the fitness world, I've seen many trends and fads.

It seems like every few years we are introduced to something new in the fitness world that is going to be the biggest and the best!

This is similar the dieting world.

However, there are always mainstays. When you look at what has stuck and what has truly helped people throughout the years, it's cardio and resistance training. Cardio can take many forms, such as : running, biking, stair climbers, etc. Resistance training is typically seen as some form of weight lifting or body weight exercises.

So why kickboxing?

Kickboxing uses the entire body. It is an intense workout the pushes the heart and lungs to build the cardiovascular health AND every exercise you do is going to force your muscles to work hard. Anytime you hit the pads you are building even more strength because of the "push back" you receive upon contact.

Here are my other top reasons for choosing kickboxing:

  • It's a motivating class setting with accountability and encouragement.

  • It's accessible for most ages.

  • No experience is required.

  • You get something different every class.
